API and MCP access
Every North Carolina record County Desk holds, for your own software or an AI assistant such as Claude or ChatGPT, through the County Desk MCP server. Access is paid in advance with credits; one credit is one US cent.
What a call costs

Example: every Charlotte code enforcement case since 2024, about 175,000 rows, costs about 1,755 credits ($17.55).

MCP server: https://www.countydesk.org/mcp (streamable HTTP). Send your key in the header Authorization: Bearer <key>. Tools: list_counties, list_record_types, search_records, get_record, export_records. Each response reports the credits charged and the credits left.
