Scope of work	Pursuant to North Carolina General Statutes § 143-129 et. seq., Brunswick County (“County” or “Owner”) is soliciting bids for the construction of: SITE ADDITIONS AND STORMWATER MODIFICATIONS TO SMITHVILLE DISTRICT PARK. Sealed bids must be received by 2:00 p.m. ET on August 29, 2024, at the Brunswick County Parks and Recreation Department located at 20 Referendum Drive, Building G, Bolivia, NC 28422. Bids will be for the furnishing of all labor and materials, including all equipment required, as detailed in the technical specifications, construction drawings, and summary of work contained herein. Any changes to the specifications or summary of work or clarifications to the bidding documents will be made in the form of an Addendum hereto and will be supplied to all prospective bidders and posted on QuestCDN. Notwithstanding the foregoing, prospective bidders are responsible for ensuring that they have all addenda. Each bid must be made on the forms provided. Brunswick County will not be responsible for the failure of any mail or delivery service to deliver a bid. Regardless of the manner of submission, bids received after the aforementioned date and time, incomplete bids, or bids not submitted at the correct location or in the designated manner will not be accepted. Sealed bids will be opened publicly and read aloud on August 29, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. ET at the Brunswick County Parks and Recreations Department located at 20 Referendum Drive, Building G, Bolivia, NC 28422. The contract shall be Single Prime. A general description of the work includes, without limitation: construction of asphalt walking trails, a basketball court, the installation of stormwater drainage pipes and bulkheads, erosion and sediment control measures, regrading, seeding, irrigation of baseball/softball fields and multipurpose fields, and chain link fence and gate at the ditch crossing towards the northeast corner of the site. The installation of the chain link fence and gate shall only include removal of the existing chain link fence at the location shown on the plans sufficient to install the gate within the existing fence. All proposed improvements will be constructed within the existing Smithville District Park site; the park will need to remain open while construction activities take place. Pre-Bid Meeting: An open optional pre-bid meeting will be held for all interested bidders and vendors on August 15, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. ET at the Brunswick County Parks and Recreation Department located at 20 Referendum Drive, Building G, Bolivia, NC 28422. Site Visitation: Individual inspection of the proposed construction site is allowed only during open park hours (7:00 am ET to 10:00 pm ET).
