A brief explanation of specifications include: Gaston County is accepting proposals on a bulk catering service for the Nutrition Project for the Elderly, funded under the Home and Community Care Block Grant. The purpose of the Nutrition Project is to meet nutritional needs of individuals aged sixty and older, by serving them nutritionally sound meals in strategically located community sites in Gaston County. In addition, this proposal shall include meals provided to an adult day care center; located in Gastonia. The caterer will offer therapeutic diet options of no concentrated sweets (NCS) and low sodium to meet special diet needs. All special diet meals will be pre-portioned, trayed and labeled with the name of the special diet.
